The First Step #01

Every journey starts with The First Step....

Types of Counselling

Short term: focused on a life event crisis.

Longer term: where we agree that there are many concerns and patterns creating difficulties in your relationships and maybe your working life.

Concerns people bring into the sessions are as follows:
  • Low self esteem and lack of confidence
  • Depression, loss and a sense of isolation
  • Trauma - childhood or adulthood
  • Sex Abuse or emotional abuse
  • Domestic violence
  • Career evaluation and mentoring
  • Loss - of a job, partner, friend etc
  • Loss of direction and motivation to engage with life

What Benefits can be Expected?
  • Greater sense of self worth
  • Care about the 'self' more
  • Creative and dynamic changes to entrenched unhelpful patterns of behaviour
  • A depth of aliveness you may not have had previously
  • A deeper capacity to love self and so love others
  • More confidence that is real and not just a front
  • Sensitivity to self and to others...and much more!

A movement from frustration to wholeness, with a sense of wellbeing, is always possible. What you put in to something will reap you similar rewards. Nothing given, nothing gained... Counselling is a challenging and yet potentially rewarding process. Any client who comes to me will have my full commitment to the process, until they choose to leave. Why not give it a go?

Most People Benefit in Many Different Ways

Here are some frequently shared thoughts from my clients over the years:

    'I feel more confident now'

'I changed my ways of relating and now have more positive outcomes in my relationships'

'I am far more empathic to others and this has supported a depth in my personal life'

'I no longer blame myself for the abuse I suffered'

'I am a far more thoughtful and considered person and no longer fly off the handle'

'I accept myself a lot more and therefore am less intolerant towards others in my life'

'My husband is surprised at the changes and he is really happy now I came to see you'

'It wasn't always easy and you challenged me, but I can see now how I used to be so impulsive and got into wrong situations with the wrong people'
