HELEENA YATES: INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPIST REGISTERED WITH THE UNITED KINGDOM COUNCIL OF PSYCHOTHERAPY (UKCP), LONDONI have over twenty five years' experience and many trainings to underpin this experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist, and working within a relational model overall, using this process as the 'container' for the whole client work. The length of my training covers 20 years in total to Masters Degree level, and my professional training covers many theoretical models to UKCP level of registration. Most of all the essential practice of quietness /stillness augments my own life and practice; for without this there would be little capacity to hear and listen in an empathic way to the essence and the stories my clients bring as their own precious doorway into the therapeutic and potentially healing process. Qualifications as follows:
PSYCHODYNAMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY TO DIPLOMA LEVEL; WPL LONDON (4 YEAR PART TIME)
HUMANISTIC INTEGRATIVE INCLUSIVE OF EXISTENTIAL MODELS DIPLOMA AND MSC. (6 YEARS PART TIME)
BODY PSYCHOTHERAPY (THREE YEAR RESIDENTIAL TRAINING TO DIPLOMA LEVEL)
ENERGY & BREATHWORK / LIFE COACHING USING NLP AND OTHER COGNITIVE MODELS.
TRANSPERSONAL / SPIRITUAL DIRECTION FROM A RELIGIOUS ORDER FOR 35 YEARS LONG.
CREATIVITY & ART THERAPY FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS
All of these inform my overall practice.
Art and poetry are part of my life and can be powerful tools to support self-reflection, self-awareness and understanding unconscious inner processes. Jung after-all used this process in his own discovery of the inner-world. Creativity has the potential to heal wounds that are at times deep and entrenched. I continue to train and work in my own personal therapy / ongoing, enabling me to fully support my clients through challenging times. I attend regular supervision with Michael SothUKCP Reg. body psychotherapist and trainer from Chiron Psychotherapy Centre, London in an Integrative model.
Working as a professional nurse for many years I have experience in paediatrics, midwifery, mental health, palliative care, elderly, care of the dying, clinical supervision for health care professionals, counselling people with dementia and those who experience trauma. I also have an interest in:
